Born To Be Mild
Get your motor running, head out on the highway, something something something... uh. Something. Born to be wiii-iild, da de dum.
It's been a while since I last deposited the contents of my brain onto this website, so I thought I'd give it an update, or just write bollocks on it for a few paragraphs like I normally do.
I have not updated it because I have not done anything really interesting lately. I have been riding my bike, yes, and got quite good at it too, except the bastards at the DSA decided that it was not good enough and failed me. Never mind, I'm retaking my test a week-Wednesday. The bike test is not dissimilar to the car test. You ride around for about 30 mins and the only manoeuvres that bloke will ask you to do are an emergency stop and a u-turn. It's the u-turn that killed my chances. I put my foot down halfway through it because I was unbalanced. Stupid error and it cost the retake fee of £45. I don't see how it's a major/serious fault though, as if I had not put my foot down I would have fallen over which is stupid looking. The examiner was having none of this though. The emergency stop was fun. My CG125 is noted for having crap brakes, so an emergency stop is easily accomplished by simply closing the throttle and sneezing. In the test I grabbed onto everything on the handlebars and only overshot the examiner by about half a mile. This didn't register as a fault though! I'll have to see how next week goes.
I bought my air-tickets this week, which is nice. I've now got something more to look forward to. That and passing my test and getting rid of those damn L-plates. I fly out to Singapore on April 14th and then onwards to Perth, WA on the 20th. Should be good, though in my tradition my timing is rubbish as Summer starts here around then and Winter sets-in on Aus. I hear that Winter in Aus is like Summer here so I'm not missing anything. One major pain is The Ashes is being hosted by England next year. I'm going to have to stay up very late/get up very early if I want to watch that. I do, of course. We stand a chance of avoiding total annihilation this time round! That is if we survive a Winter in Zimbabwe and SA.
I'm trying to tie this one up but can't. So I'll stop there.
